Here at Blackberry Centre, our users are real users that use their Blackberries everyday.

We don’t just review for the sake of it, we actually put the devices through their stride.

Now that I have lived with the Storm for a longer period of time, I can give you some deeper insight to the good and bad bits of the device.

Unfortunately, those accustomed to the Blackberry Curve’s and Bold’s will find that typing emails and messages on this handset a bit of a polava. Touchscreens were and are not a replacement for a good old fashioned tactile keyboard. The screen with all its wonderful ‘click’ design is cumbersome to use and in some ways makes typing emails slower as you have to depress the screen before the letters are recognised.

The screen in all it’s glory does chew through the battery life and for the hard core emailer amongst us, the battery is just not good enough.

The Blackberry apps store is still really in beta mode and is nowhere near as accomplished as the Apple Iphone 3G Apps Store. There really aren’t that many applications out there for the Storm.

The omission of Wifi from the handset does start to grind a little. Fair play, there is 3G, but speeds are still nowhere near home broadband speeds. This makes browsing webpages at home slow when you could be enjoying home broadband speeds. Although the Vodafone Blackberry Storm comes with 500Mb of download in the tariff. The facebook application for Blackberry Storm seems to be a hit with the younger users though!

Further Con’s

For looks and wow factor - this Blackberry isn’t bad. But those more accustomed to standard Blackberries like the Curve and Bold will get put off from this. Some may even find it frustrating. A true competitor to the Iphone 3G - but alas, it has the same problems associated with the Iphone 3G
