Here at Blackberry Centre, our users are real users that use their Blackberries everyday.
We don’t just review for the sake of it, we actually put the devices through their stride.
The Palm Treo Pro is one of Palms prettier and better looking devices. The shiny black finishing is very tasteful and quite nice to hold in the hand. It feels weighty but not overly heavy.
The Treo Pro runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and this is where I believe the device falls over on. The device is so beautifully built, but the OS is so slow and clunky. Scrolling through the settings options is clunky and jerky at times, whereas these problems don’t occur on the Blackberry Bold or the Iphone 3G. How I wish that Palm still continued with its own OS which wasn’t bad at the time.
Calls were ok, nothing special but nothing real bad about it. Scrolling through the contacts was quite easy. If you hold down the scroll long enough, it jumps to the next letter of the alphabet and as such makes one handed searching that little bit faster. Although the Blackberry, I feel, still has the best contact search facility out of all the smartphones.
The keyboard on the Treo Pro is aesthetically very pleasing to the eye. However, in a practical sense, the keys are too small and don’t have enough feel which makes typo’s a common thing.
But as Windows Mobile phones go, I think that this is one of the better ones. Battery
isn’t bad for a smartphone either -

The Treo Pro is a worthy smartphone and does Palm proud. It is one of the better devices to have Windows Mobile but at the same time, it is Windows Mobile that lets it down. Overall, a good and different phone, just let down by the operating system..
